How you met:
I worked at an orthopaedic surgeon, Tyler came in for a knee injury around October 2013. That’s where we first met, but we didn’t make any moves until March 2014.
One of my best friends met a guy, he so happened to be gym partners with Tyler. I hung out with her and Quinton for a while and eventually Tyler asked him if I was the girl that worked at the Dr’s room – small world! Thereafter we went to a shooter party at Numbers and Tyler was there and that’s where we officially met and spoke. The good old Numbers days!
The next day I got a message asking for my number and if we could go out. We went on a double date to Tuesday Sensation and we hit it off immediately. I was moving to Pretoria at the end of March, which I did. We stayed in contact every day, spent hours on the phone and just couldn’t pull away from the fact that this may be the real thing. I decided to move back only 6 weeks later and we picked up right where we left off and the rest is history! It was so natural, comfortable and so easy from the beginning, it was like we had known each other for years. It was meant to be. Fate.
How you chose your dress:
I had a vision of this fitting, slim, lacey dress. I went to Mandy at Lady Marmalaide with my mom, my mom in law and my 3 bridesmaids and started the search for my perfect dress!
After trying on almost every style that there was, everything I had in mind, I still felt like I hadn’t found THE ONE.
Nothing felt perfect and I didn’t get the OMW bride feeling, until I tried on a fairy tale princess dress! Two things I didn’t want or rather two things I didn’t think would suit me! A boob tube and puffy dress! Those are the two things that looked PERFECT.
I walked out, they all gasped and the reaction just did it for me. I turned around, saw myself and felt like an absolute bride, like a perfect vision of a bride! I was so taken back that I fell in love! What you think you want and what you think may look amazing on you, is total opposite! The best decision I made. I felt like the most beautiful bride on my day! I was and am still so in love with my dress.
What inspired your wedding style:
I wanted something elegant, different, classy, and stunning. I found that copper and dusty blue went gorgeous together and so I mixed it in with some greys and voila! I used only white flowers and greenery to pop on the colour palette we chose.
Karen from Lush Events and Sarah May are just beyond amazing and they far exceeded my expectations for the décor and flowers. I told them what I wanted and they brought me the most amazing set up. I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. The guys wore a handsome blue suit and the girls wore dusty blue dresses that complimented our wedding perfectly.
Our day was a literal perfect fairy tale. Everything went so smoothly, and the weather held out until we had done our photos. We lost light really quickly and being overcast we didn’t get the golden sunset, but we got the most stunning backdrops from the cliffs.
There is nothing about our day I would change. It was the best day of my life and I got to marry the man of my dreams. The love of my life and to spend forever together as husband and wife is a dream come true.

How we met?
Jeff and I were always in the same circle of friends in Kidds Beach growing up, but never really got to know each other properly until the end of 2010.
We spent a lot of time with that group of friends over the December holidays but neither of us were brave enough to say how we really felt. We carried on spending time together over the course of the next few months, our shyness disappeared. One thing lead to another, the rest is history, 9 years down the line.
How I chose my dress
I am a huge fan of supporting local. I contacted Mandy at Lady Marmalaide because I had heard amazing reviews.
I booked an appointment and decided to take Jeffs mom, my mom and my sister with me.
On arrival, Mandy made me feel so at ease and asked me a series of questions to figure out what I had my mind set on. She picked out 5 dresses and the room was filled with emotion and excitement as I walked out in the first dress.
We loved this dress, but it wasn’t the ONE. I tried on the third one, the one which I liked the least on the hanger. I put it on and walked out feeling super confident and beautiful. The room filled with gasps and tears. I knew this was the ONE. I didn’t want to take it off!
Mandy had become such a special part of our day and even put up with my constant need to see this amazing dress all the time – haha! Mandy at Lady Marmalaide makes you feel like the most beautiful bride in the world and puts your mind at total ease. I highly recommend her to all future brides.
Wedding style inspiration:
We got engaged in June 2017. We wanted a long engagement and this is every girls nightmare because the day we got engaged I started trolling pinterest.
With styles and fashion changing every so often, my mind changed a few times. It wasn’t until we went bridesmaid material shopping that I knew exactly what I wanted. I knew when I saw the material, my mind had been made up.
Our style was Rustic Romance. I wanted a laid back wedding with neutral colours, as much as possible. I loved our use of dirty pink with hints of red, cream and white.
Sarah May smashed all expectations as well as. I showed her the bridesmaids material and told her to go wild! I was blown away as to how well the flowers complimented my colour scheme.
We wanted picture perfect sunset for our special day but instead the heavens opened, and it absolutely poured with rain.
I prayed for the rain to subside just for our day and photos. I decided that I was probably being the most selfish person. We were in fact having the worst drought in our area in many years. I prayed again and said whatever is meant to be will be.
I had complete peace and calmness over me as I knew the weather didn’t matter as long as I got to marry Jeff. We celebrated in the pouring rain and had the best day with our closest friends and family.
