Kegan and Jenalee's beautiful wedding would catch any bride to be or wedding lovers eye.  I LOVE the crisp, minimalist wedding with touches of rose gold decor.  It is definitely a Pinterest worthy wedding, just as Jenalee had said!

Love Story
Kegan and Jenalee's story is the classic friendship first, love later scenario.

They met through mutual friends about 9 years ago while out on a Saturday night. It so happened that their partners at the time were in the same group of friends and introduced them.

Kegan and Jenalee ended up spending a lot of time together within this group and became great friends. They remained friends throughout this time and saw nothing romantic coming of this friendship, however, there was always that ‘something’ between them.  A connection that Jenalee is still unable to put into words. Four years into their friendship they found themselves single and both moving away from this group of friends but stayed in contact and remained friends. They began spending more time together, which slowly brought out this different side to their friendship, both completely unsure of what it may become, but in the end all it took was one kiss to seal the deal, leading them to where they are today.

The Dress
The dress was such a very special part of all Jenalee's planning.  Jenalee's mom as well as herself had made it together.  It wasn’t an easy process to select the style and fabric that they wanted to use, it required countless trips to the fabric store and hours of  searching on Pinterest for ideas, but when they had finally had a plan, Jenalee's dream dress came to life. Jenalee is so grateful to have shared this journey with her mom.

When Jenalee finally put her dress on, with her hair and make up done, they were able to share in a moment of ‘we did this’ and that is something to be cherished for a lifetime.

The Proposal
Kegan has always made it his mission to keep Jenalee in anticipation and surprise her when it comes to gifts and special occasions.   This proposal was no exception.

Going into 2016 Kegan and Jenalee had the inevitable chat about marriage where Jenalee had joked saying ‘’2016 is the year I get engaged, you better get started’’ but little did she know that at this point he had already purchased the stones and had already started designing her gorgeous ring!

2016 rushed passed and what a year it was! Kegan and Jenalee moved in to their first home together and life was great.

31
st of December, New Year’s Eve came around - the VERY last day of 2016!  Kegan said that they were going to stay home a little longer, before heading off to a New Year’s party as he ‘just didn’t feel like going too early’ and offered to make dinner before they leave. Jenalee was cranky after a long day at the beach and just couldn’t wait for him to cook, not realising she had ruined his plans a little.  Jenalee asked if they could go and get something to eat and asked if he could leave rather not make dinner. A

fter returning from getting food, Jenalee was welcomed by a gorgeous picnic set up in their garden, fairy lights all over with their cats playing around them. After dinner, Kegan proposed, and it was perfect! That evening they rang in the new year celebrating with friends and family.
  What a perfect new years!
Wedding Details
Every element of the wedding was special to Kegan and Jenalee.  From the number of guests, to who they chose to stand by their side. Everything meant a little something to them and created memories that they'll cherish forever.

Kegan and Jenalee chose to do all their photos before the ceremony, starting with a beautiful and emotional first look.  Love that they went with a very different approach from the traditional way of photos being taken after the ceremony.

Jenalee will never forget the look on Kegan’s face when he turned around and saw her for the first time.  It  not only had Jenalee in tears, but everyone else who witnessed it in tears as well!

Getting all the photos done before ceremony allowed them to enjoy the snacks and spend some quality time with all their guests before heading into the reception, it also left them with so much time to just really enjoy the day completely stress free.

Kelly May pulled out all the stops with makeup, everyone looked gorgeous!

Jenalee's dad made the stunning marquee letter lights for them, which have since made an appearance at one of their guest’s wedding, what a special touch!

Kegan’s dad built the beautiful alter for them and Les Venter, who has been a family friend for years, really got the vibe going!

A real special something in every detail!

Wedding Style
Jenalee's idea for the wedding was modern, romantic with a little bit of drama.

Jenalee didn’t want any bright colours and wanted the flowers to steal the show.

When Jenalee started planning, she wasn’t 100% set on what she wanted, all she knew was that it needed to be romantic, intimate and make everyone feel comfortable and happy.

Jenalee loved the look of gold and rose gold cutlery from the get go.  She knew that she absolutely had to have those elements in her decor.   This then inspired her to add touches of rose gold in the décor to tie it all together.

Being in Cape Town, it was rather difficult to plan the wedding. Jenalee felt completely lost, this is when she reached out to Roelien from RM Events.  What a great decision it was to hire her!  Jenalee sent her a couple pictures and chatted to her about her thoughts and ideas.  Roelien just ran with it.  The fact that Roelien pulled together this gorgeous, Pinterest worthy wedding from WhatsApp and emails was incredible!  Jenalee said that it was just like Roelien was in her head, as she knew exactly what she wanted.

The highlight of the décor for Jenalee had to be the overhead floral installations and flowers.  Jenalee wanted the flowers to steal the show, and boy did they! Sarah is a genius and her work for the wedding was incredible. The overhead installations and alter arrangement just gave it that little bit of drama and wow factor Jenalee was looking for.

Everything about the style and look of the wedding was perfection.  It exceeded all of their expectations and was all documented so spectacularly and captured by Stephanie Norman.  The best decision they had made!

Every single vendor did an amazing job.  Kegan and Jenalee couldn’t be happier about how their wedding turned out, it was the wedding of their dreams!
